This Youth 180 program for young people ages 15 – 25 is designed to deter underage drinking, drug use or possession, and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs.

The program encourages participants to listen, interact and think about the consequences of drinking, drug use, and driving under the influence.

The class includes:
- how substances impact the body and decision-making process
- current laws on driving under the influence and possession of drugs and alcohol
- visual presentation of medical examiner cases involving substance use and driving
- a visit to a hospital's trauma unit, and dialogue with registered nurses from the trauma unit
- Fatal Vision Goggles and Fatal Reflections programs
- information on effective decision-making skills
- discussion of personal accountability as it relates to drug and alcohol use and other destructive behaviors.

This is a one day, eight (8) hour course for young people ages 15-25.There is a fee required to attend this class.

 

CLASSES ARE OFFERED AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS

 

Parkland Memorial Hospital Classes held on one Saturday each month from 8am-5pm  

Baylor University Medical Center Classes held on one Saturday each month from 8am-5pm
