Youth180’s intervention program is rooted in neuroscience and child psychology. Using an evidence-based model, skilled practitioners meet 1-2 times per week for 45 minutes with youth in middle and high school grades who have already begun experimenting with substances. By meeting with youth in a school setting, Youth180 eliminates the need for young people to miss school or find a way to attend sessions at a secondary location.
Intervention programming includes six focus units on social and emotional learning:
- Self Concept: What It Is, How It is Formed, and Why It is Important
- A Healthy Body and Mind
- Managing Yourself Responsibly
- Getting Along with Others (Social Skills & Character)
- Being Honest with Yourself and Others (Mental Health)
- Improving Yourself Continually (Setting and Achieving your Goals)
